I am a jack of all trades so this lengthy letter will fill you in on some of the things I've done as well as what I can do for you. I am an extremely winded straight-shooter so, I'll try to keep it simple. I love any type of design! And this is how it all came about.
I started designing spaces when I was a little girl - those Fisher Prices Little People had the sweetest pads! So, it just seemed natural to take architecture in college.
I started out at Pennsylvania College of Technology majoring in Architectural Technology. Graduating in 1998 with an A.A.S. During my final year of Archiitectural Technology I switched to independent studies so I could take small business courses, thus customizing my degree. What a great program!
Later I worked for a small log home manufacturer redesigning their packages and creating custom packages for potential home owners. When I found out my daughter was dyslexic I left work to homeschool her (5th - 12th grades). During this time I started a licensed group child care - Loyalsock Learning Center -- I'm still fondly know to many as Ms. Jen!
After my last child came along, I closed my day care to spend time with him and dabble in writing children's books - 80 to be exact....still looking to get them published. When our youngest went to school I headed back in to my field working as a Construction Manger for a local developer, co-managing the construction of national chain stores throughout the state of Pennsylvania. My favorite local project was the Sanctuary - luxury loft apartments in Williamsport, PA. - Working closely with the project manger we created beautiful apartments in the former Calvary Methodist Church. Alas, I was layed off in the summer of 2009 -- A blessing in disguise!
It was then that I got the opportunity to work part time for the Pajama Factory, a new 330,000 sq. ft.development in Williamsport - The renovation and development of a creative community in the old Weldon building -- a former pajama factory. In fact, The Pajama Game, starring Doris Day, was filmed at this location.
Now, I am affectionately know as, The Pajama Diva. I do a little of everything from bookkeeping to leasing, to helping organize art events. See www.pajamafactory.net to see what we are all about. And if you think you'd like to be part of the community give -me a call at 570-323-7650 or you can e-mail me at jen@pajamafactory.net.
And finally, I also was able to acquire my studio in which I could continue my writing, work out new faux painting techniques, consult with clients, and whip up anything on the sewing machine. I have contacts throughout the industry and can assist you in planning and implementing your remodel, addition, or new home.
